What it means to approach Nomena
There is a point at which understanding Nomena from the outside is no longer enough.
You may have encountered something of what the House is concerned with.
You may have recognized something about your own life within what you have encountered.
And you may now be considering whether to approach the House itself.
This page is for that threshold.
A human life can be received
Nomena exists as a place where a human life can enter into an enduring relationship with its own unfolding and becoming.
The House does not begin with a problem to solve.
It begins with the life itself.
A human life is not merely a collection of circumstances, experiences, relationships, decisions, or difficulties. It unfolds as a whole.
Much of what shapes that unfolding remains unseen while it is being lived.
The House exists to attend to that reality.
Reception is where this relationship begins.
What happens when you enter
To enter Nomena is not simply to begin a service.
It is to cross a threshold in your relationship with your own life.
You are choosing to allow your life to be approached according to the way the House stands before a human life.
The House, in turn, undertakes to receive it.
Nothing about your life needs to be proven before this can happen.
Nothing needs to be made more impressive.
Nothing needs to be resolved in advance.
Reception begins from the recognition that a human life is already worthy of being received.
This is the first movement of the House:
A life is received.
What follows from there belongs to later thresholds.
Reception
Reception is the first encounter within the House.
It is neither an assessment nor an intake.
It is not an attempt to understand or explain you before anything else has occurred.
The House first receives.
Through Reception, a different relationship with your own life can begin to become available.
You may begin to encounter your life not only as something you are living through, but as something you can consciously stand before.
This is what makes further movement within the House possible.
What follows Reception
You do not need to know everything that Nomena can become before you enter.
Meaning is allowed to develop through participation.
If your relationship with the House continues beyond Reception, what becomes possible next will become clear at the appropriate threshold.
You are not being asked to understand those thresholds now.
For now, there is only the first threshold:
Allowing your life to be received.
The exchange of Reception
Entering Reception involves an exchange between you and the House.
The exchange does not purchase the Reader’s time, a particular outcome, or a service delivered to you.
It gives economic form to the threshold being entered: your willingness to allow your life to be received by the House.
The House will establish the appropriate exchange with you as you approach Reception.
Refund
If, after Reception, you decide not to proceed further with the House, the exchange of Reception may be returned to you.
You remain eligible to request its return until four days after Reception.
Once this period has elapsed, the exchange is no longer returnable.
This allows Reception to remain what it is intended to be: a genuine threshold that you can enter without having already committed yourself to what may follow.
Before you approach
You do not need to prepare an account of your life.
You do not need to know what is wrong.
You do not need to know what Nomena will ultimately mean for you.
You only need to know whether you are willing to allow your life to be approached in this way.
If you are, you may begin your correspondence with the House.
